「感覺蠻 peace 的」這句話在台灣年輕人裡超常聽到，但在英文裡這樣說有問題。Peace 是名詞，不能直接拿來當形容詞用。Peaceful 中文意思是「和平的、寧靜的、平和的」，才是你真正想用的形容詞。這篇把 peace 和 peaceful 的差別、inner peace 的用法，還有職場常見說法，全部一次整理給你。
Peace 中文是什麼意思？
Peace 是名詞，中文意思根據語境有幾種：形容國家之間沒有戰爭是「和平」，形容人際關係融洽是「和睦」，形容環境或內心的安靜狀態是「平靜」或「安寧」。
除了單獨出現，peace 最常以片語形式出現在日常對話裡：
- peace of mind：心靈平靜、安心感，指某件事讓你不再擔心。
- make peace（with someone）：和解，化解衝突或心結，可以是跟別人，也可以是跟自己和解。
- at peace：心情平靜，或用來說某人「已安詳離世」。
- peace and quiet：清靜，通常指想要一段不受打擾的安靜時光。

Peaceful 中文是什麼意思？
Peaceful 中文意思是「和平的」、「寧靜的」、「平和的」或「不激烈的」，是形容詞，視語境而定帶出不同感覺。
形容地方或氣氛時，peaceful 有「安靜舒服、沒有壓力」的感覺；形容人時，是說這個人性格溫和、不喜歡衝突；形容某個過程或解決方式時，強調沒有激烈對抗，例如 a peaceful protest（和平抗議）或 a peaceful transition（和平移交）。

Peace 還是 Peaceful，怎麼選才不出錯
判斷方式很簡單：看它在句子裡扮演的是名詞還是形容詞。
Peace 是名詞，通常出現在動詞後面（We need peace.）、介系詞後面（in peace、at peace）或冠詞後面（a sense of peace）。Peaceful 是形容詞，放在名詞前（a peaceful morning）或 be 動詞後面（The meeting was peaceful.）。
「感覺很 peace」或「氣氛蠻 peace 的」在英文裡不自然。正確說法是 It feels very peaceful 或 The atmosphere is quite peaceful。搞清楚 peaceful 中文意思是形容詞之後，這個錯誤就很容易避免。
多益（TOEIC）Part 5 很喜歡考詞性轉換，peace 的整個字族包括：peace（名詞）、peaceful（形容詞）、peacefully（副詞）、peacefulness（名詞）。這種詞性辨析跟 affect 和 effect 的考法很像，遇到的時候先判斷句子需要什麼詞性，再選對應的格式。

Inner peace 中文是「內心平靜」或「內在的平和」，強調的是一種來自內部的安定感，不受外界環境干擾。
這跟 peace of mind 稍有不同：peace of mind 通常是「因為某個具體問題解決了，所以放心了」，是比較即時的感受；inner peace 更像是一種長期的心理狀態，是「不管外面怎麼樣，你的內心都是穩定的」。
常見說法有 find inner peace（找到內心平靜）、seek inner peace（追求內在平和）、lose your inner peace（失去那份平靜），在心理健康、冥想和宗教語境裡非常常見。

在職場英文裡，peaceful 和 peace 出現的頻率比你想的高，尤其是在談到工作環境、談判結果或職場氛圍的時候。
Peaceful working environment（和諧的工作環境）：形容辦公室氛圍融洽，大家合作順暢，沒有內部衝突。
Peaceful resolution / peaceful settlement（和平解決）：談判或爭議雙方在沒有激烈衝突的情況下達成協議。在多益閱讀理解（Part 7）的商業新聞類文章裡很常出現，也出現在 Part 5 詞性題裡。
Peace of mind：職場裡常用在「讓對方安心」的語境，比如告訴客戶某個問題已經處理好了，說「I just want to give you peace of mind.」
