你知道 Bail 這個字可以從「交保」講到「放鳥」嗎？Bail 中文意思超多，而且差很多！用錯場合真的會超尷尬，比如你朋友跟你說 “I need to bail”，你以為他要去交保，結果他只是要臨時取消聚會而已。這篇文章要教你 3 個完全不同的使用場景，學會之後你就不會再搞混啦！
情境一：法律上的 Bail — 保釋、交保
在法律情境裡，bail 是「保釋金」的意思，這個在新聞裡常常看到。
- Bail 當名詞就是保釋金
- Post bail 或 Make bail 是「繳保釋金、交保成功」
- Bail someone out 是「幫某人繳保釋金、讓某人交保」
- Out on bail 是「交保候審」
這個用法千萬不要亂用喔，因為太嚴肅了，只有在真的跟法律、警察、被捕有關的時候才用。

情境二：金融與政治的 Bail out — 紓困、救援
在金融和政治的情境裡，bail out 是「紓困、援助」的意思，Bail out 意思就是在經濟或財務上拯救某個公司或組織。這個在新聞裡超常看到，特別是講到政府紓困企業的時候。
最有名的例子就是2008年金融危機的時候，美國政府 bail out 很多銀行和汽車公司。不過這個用法不只政府能用，個人幫朋友度過財務難關也可以說 bail out。

情境三：社交與日常的 Bail — 放鳥、臨時取消
好啦，這個才是你最常會用到的！在日常生活中，bail 有超多意思：
- Bail = 臨時缺席、不來了
- Bail on someone = 放某人鳥、臨時取消跟某人的約
- Bail on plans = 放棄計畫、取消計畫
- Bail out = 臨時退出、開溜
這個用法朋友之間最常碰到，可能是你朋友臨時有事不能來，也可能是他故意放你鳥。語氣上可能會帶點抱怨，畢竟被放鳥誰都會不爽啊！
